Eric Williams

Eric Williams is a highly talented and respected boxing coach who started boxing at the age of 10 in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan. He has trained under famous boxing trainer, Emanuel Steward, at the world renowned Kronk Gym alongside former world champions Thomas Hearns, Milton McCrory, and Jimmy Paul. He has been practicing the sport for 42 years. Williams has over 110 amateur fights and had a 3-0-1 professional record when he decided to become a full-time trainer. Since then, he has helped develop several world champions and a multitude of the nation’s top amateur fighters.

Williams has trained Chris “Showtime” Johnson, a 1992 Olympic Bronze Medalist, and Corinne “Goose” Van Ryck de Groot, who is an American Gladiator and winner of NBC’s “The Next Action Star.”

Robert Allen (IBF Middleweight Champion) and Vernon Forrest (former NABF Light Heavyweight Champion known for his victories over Shane Mosley) are other professional boxers who have trained under the tutelage of Eric Williams.

Eric is now the boxing coach here at Team Octopus and currently trains UFC veteran Diego Saraiva, Xavier “The X-Man” Tolliver, and Shea Taylor. His goal is to continue developing world champions and to teach the sport of boxing to anyone wanting to learn for fitness purposes, regardless of age or experience. His classes are a challenging mix of workouts he uses to train his own pro boxers that he combines into a fun program fit for all.
